Why will my avatar not change?

I have uploaded different avatar's many times in the past. I want to change it again and after uploading it many times, it being confirmed, the board still shows my old one! The new image is with the parameters of the board requirements and when I go to edit profile my new avatar shows up plain as day. But when I post it still shows my old one. Any help?

Is it from your hard drive or a photo server?

It's from my harddrive. I'll try and upload it to my photobucket and see what happens.

That was the ticket! Thanks for that, I just really don't remember having to do that in the past. Oh well it worked so nuff said!
