Mercman Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Amazing what you can do with a superglue cap, and some tubing. The car is afrom a key chain. This will be the sign post for another project I have in mind. Now the pole has to be painted.
disabled modeler Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Hi Junior... Thats a cool idea and pretty creative. Now if I could just make some with the car brand dealer and lighted in 1/25th scale .
Mercman Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Started on the building/garage for this one. They will offer all sorts of race cars, not just NASCAR.
FUSIONBOY Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Good start on your shop, please keep updating as you can.
Mercman Posted October 23, 2010 Author Posted October 23, 2010 Today the cement truck showed up to pour the floor. Also Bryan is up checking out the new roof. Careful Bryan, even if you have a safety rope!! They're already arguing on which is real racing.
Mercman Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Some of the equipment started to arrive today. Tool chests, and cabinets. All are scratch built from plastic.
Mercman Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Today the GOODYEAR truck showed up with a load of racing slicks. Also acquired a new shop truck. Which is a WIP. Preview of the shop wall. This is not all of the equipment, but the pieces I scratch built, except the pop machine. Getting ready for the Sat. Nite action.
Mercman Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 Took some brass, and tried my soldering skills. Also found a floor jack. Now I have to try to solder a pipe rack, and a few other goodies.
dannyi Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 ...looking good Mercman, always enjoy watching your builds!
Mercman Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 A few more shop items. Compressor. Pipe Rack. Hoist, which is in the paint shop drying. And finally a couple of shots of the interior.
Mercman Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Thanks Danny, as I do on your builds. Your garage was fantastic. Edited November 6, 2010 by Mercman
Mercman Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Here's the newest equipment to arrive, engine hoist, and stand. Both scratch built. The hoist is from Evergreen stock, and brass for strengthening.
Mercman Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Decided we needed a warehouse for all of the projects at Racing Specialties. Just starting construction on it.
Mercman Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Here's what the front will look like. And one of the sides. Gotta have a door to get the transporter rig in and out of. Note that the floor is done. The interior of this one wont be quite as busy as the shop. Edited November 8, 2010 by Mercman
Mercman Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Here are shots of the roof I constructed. Cut some plexiglass stringers to get the plastic to hold it's shape. Here you can see how it'll look. I am adding trim to the sides yet. Darn it Bryan, weren't you told to stay off the roof. Looks like a OSHA guy is there keeping an I on him.
