Scalefinishes Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I bought this car because I needed the back seat for another project. The flames are neon yellow, orange, and red over Arctic white. The rest of the car is Ford RD Teal. Tires and wheels are from the '69 nova kit. The rear axle was shortened about 1/8 if an inch, and is mounted on a scratch built set of ladder bars and coil over shocks. My dad says he knew a guy when they were younger who put a 389 Pontiac in a '57. I tried it on this kit, and it fit surprisingly well. The radiator is scratch built so it sits in front of the core support. The motor and transmission mounts were also scratch built. The exhaust is from the kit, but was modified to fit. You can see the build here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35136 Now for some pictures. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking, Jameston
DRG Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 A car that was built with Hot Rodding in mind. Love the flames.
impcon Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Pretty car! I REALLY like that blue.. betcha that car would look good in that blue with a white roof ... did you paint the flames or are they decals? ( probably a dumb question but I had to ask.. ) Pretty car! Greg Cullinan Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Nice build. Good job on taking a common kit and doing something different.
