I've been doing a lot of research on that lately as I have about 300.00 worth of parts tree'd up and waiting to be plated, myself! I called Chrome Tech and the guy there was not very personable and said he didn't really like plating resin parts. I then called The Little Motor Kar Co. and spoke with Dale. Really nice guy and he does the plating there at his business. With Chrome Tech, you'd be giving your parts to a "middle man" and I've heard horror stories of parts being lost in between. I have heard many good things about The Little Motor Kar Co. and nothing negative, I'll be sending my parts to Dale! You can contact him at: littlemotorkarco@talon.net

Prices and instructions on making the trees and fastening the parts are pretty much the same with both places.

Hope this helps.

Are you absolutely positive you spoke to Chrome Tech USA? I'm dealing with Bob Shebilske for almost three decades now and I neither find him not personable, nor is he a middle man, and he is anything but adversed to plating resin parts. In fact, he is an avid and accomplished car modeler himself. I have yet to experience a lost part or anything I wasn't completely satisfied with.

I concur. I've known Bob for years and used his chroming service also. He's also been one heck of a decent guy.

Hey Christian, yes it was Bob, or Robert as he answered. He wasn't really rude or anything. He just had a negative tone and didn't seem like he wanted my business? Maybe it was just a bad day for him? As far as everything else I'm just going by what I've heard from several people. The only first hand experience I've had was when I gave a bunch of resin parts to a buddy for him to send to Chrome Tech. Some of the parts I got back had been wrapped in tissue paper. Apparently the top coat had not dried completely and the tissue paper stuck to every part ruining them. :)
