DWR Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I am building the Blue Duster version of the Mongoose ( Slixx Decals ) Can anyone tell me if the chassis was blue on this car? I have been looking for reference photos but can't find any with the body up or off.
1320wayne Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I only have one body up shot of this car. From the picture it looks as iff the chassis was blue but a shade lighter than the body. And a shot of the restored car.

Go to Snakeracing.com and click on collection, then click Mongoose car, scroll right and there are several pics of the car with body up. Depending on sunlite the chassis looks different colors in several pics. Terry
brett Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Hey Terry theres some awesome reference stuff there!! Thanks so much for sharing it!
DWR Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 Great link Terry...thank you. I am not sure if I am going to complete the project or not. I purchased The new Revell Mongoose kit and the body was damaged, I ordered a new body from Revell and it came damaged as well. I have heard this kit has some issues so I think I will give up on getting a good body from Revell and try my hand at a resin body and after looking at your link I may try a Vega, Monza or Arrow body. Does anybody know if any after market suppliers made decals for the Prudomme Army cars? I like the old funny cars in fact I just made a deal on a NIP Revell Don Schumacher 74 Vega and NIP Monogram Billy Meyer 7-11 Mustang II.
Hondo Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 As for Prudhomme decals....... Notta. Seems Mrs. Prudhomme doesn't want that to happen (at least that's what I always heard) Only place I've seen any is here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html (A place in Australia) A few people have made their own Snake decals, but not usually for sale to everyone, unless anyone knows differently. I know there would be a lot of Snake cars built if decals were available.
Doug McCabe Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 There is a good pic of the car on Ebay!!
