Any idea who might have made this model? I got it in a parts box along with a pinto pro stock car from a neighbor!

I'll take a guess at this. Looks like either AMT or SMP. Now, I'm just guessing, but that's what it looks like to me. What a find, that's for sure. If you have an AMT kit, try and fit the chassis under it and the interior. If it fits, you'll have a very rare kit. I'd like to have one of those. Dan

I never knew that they made a Bel Air convertible model. Wow!!!!!!!! Now that one deserves a full blown restoration if anything does - built bone stock - with tons of love and care. What are your plans for it?

It amazes me to see stuff like this still bubbling to the surface - stuff that has been hidden away in boxes in attics and basements abd garages. It's good to know thatthis one never made it to the dumpster as I am sure, most old models do. Congratulations on your find!! I am very happy for you.;):)

Hummmmmmmm, I think you have uncovered a RARE , ( read expensive ) 1958 S M P Impalla convertable body ! Now , if it were me , I would strip the awful paint off of it and be very careful as to further breakage and store it in a nice clear display case with a decent paint job. I can run down the origional catalouge code for it later . Price in 1958, only 1.39 !!!! Ed Shaver
