voljeepx Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I am using SMS carbon fiber decals, and I did a rather large area. There was a little overlap and now that it has all dried I would like to trim and remove the excess. There lies the problem. I have tried decal solvent to try and soften them up, but no luck. Anybody have any other ideas for me? Thanks for your help! Ed
Chillyb1 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Yes, I have a method, but you have to be very, very careful. I learned this from someone on this forum and I can't remember who. Anyway, use regular Scotch-type clear tape. After you trim with a sharp blade, you can apply the tape where you want to remove the decal and, voila, it will remove it. Sometimes it takes a couple tries before it all comes up, but if you are patient you can get it all removed without damaging the decals you leave in place. Does that make sense?

Sounds so simple I hope I can pull it off! <pun intended> Thanks for the tip!
