truckbuilder42 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Hello guys, just a quick question. I am about to start the AMT Titan 90, and was wondering how i would go about streching the frame. Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated, thanks! Kyle
mistermodel Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 The easy way is to buy another titan.say you wanted 4 fuel tanks ,buy using a duplicate frame you would have the mounts.you could also find a channel beam or an Ibeam,if using Ibeam trim off the flange on one side,or from flat stock from some one like plastruct or evergreen. You can put cross members where the seams are to stiffen it up.I usually put a piece of flat stock in side the channel, called a fish plate, about an inch longer to reinforce the stretch .If i remember i cut the frame and extensions on a 45 angle to give more glue surface, real trucks are done on a 45 also
