Mike Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Here's a way to make poseable steering on most/some models as long as they've got spindles and a tie-rod. Here's a quick and easy way to make (some/most) model car tires steerable - ***What you need - Xacto knife and a lighter 1 - Put tie-rod in position on the spindles DO NOT GLUE 2 - Heat up Xacto knife blade with your lighter 3 - Quickly put hot knife onto spindle point with a little pressure for a little less than a second. Careful not to hold too long or you'll melt the tie-rod to the spindle. 4 - The plastic will melt into a mushroom head capping off the connection and leaving the tie-rod loose on the spindles and able to turn/position the front tires 5 - Touch up any paint as necessary
bobss396 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Cool tip, looks doable on lots of cars. I do something similar, only using short brass pins I found at a craft store. Bob
