zjustin28 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 So, first off, im new here, been doing 1/24/25 modeling for about 4-5 years, never did anything too detailed, but finding more interest in that. On to my current project. I have a 1:1 85 z28. Currently has 305 with about 280rwhp. Building a 355. shooting for 450n/a 600 on spray, enough about that, how about some model talk? My friend gave me the 1/8 monogram iroc kit. I'd been wanting one of these for a while, but couldnt justify the 100+ on ebay. Its assembled, but im tearing it down, and gonna do a complete replica of my camaro. And thats where i come to you guys. Basically, looking for a line on 1/8 scale parts. found plenty of smaller scale (scale dreams seeming pretty awesome). I'm looking for engine parts, wheels, tires, certain interior pieces. As for kit specific, i really, really, really, need a side view mirror for the drivers side. maybe a few extra parts as well. So, any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated. Anyways, thats my intro to this build, will get some pics up soon of both mullets .

highway Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Welcome to the forum, Justin! I love the look of your 1:1, I almost had an 88 exactly like yours from a friend of mine, but unfortunately he ended up taking with him when he moved. Anyway, like you said, how about some model talk. I'll be honest with you, if you can find another on ebay for around a 100 bucks, they are worth it. I paid that price for one of it's sister kits about 3 or 4 years ago from a hobby shop that just happened to have older kits, the 79 Trans Am. When I first seen the price, I was not really thrilled with the price, and it took 4 or 5 times of looking at it, putting it back, then looking at it again before I finally decided it had to go home with me because I might never see it again. Of course, if you really want to build a replica of the 1:1 until you have your parts gathered for the big one, there are some nice 1:25 scale kits of the IROC, and also a 1:16 scale if I remember correctly. I know Revell made a 1:16 86 or 87 Trans Am, and I'm almost certain they did the IROC too. I recently seen the 1:16 Trans Am on ebay for less than $50. Good luck in your parts search.
zjustin28 Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 Yea, im bidding on a 1/25 amt iroc. (its t tops, but i can patch em i figure.) should get it for about 25.
Ron Hamilton Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) If you can find a Monogram 1/8 scale 1982 Z28, you will get the exact wheels like what is on your car. I built one back in the day, and I still have it, waiting to see the light of day. Edited November 2, 2010 by Ron Hamilton
