2LaneBlackTop Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) I apologize for miss typing my S in flip nose, My s key is sticky. I am working on a revell 55 Chevy Street Machine. I`m pretty much making my own version by using tons of parts from other model kits I collected. I want to turn it into a car like the one on the 1971 movie Two Lane Blacktop. But my own style. I wanna know how can I make a flip nose. Where the grille, fenders, and hood tilt forwards. I am making my own chassis using the revell 1970 duster stock car Limited millenium edition kit, and making my own frame rails. Edited November 2, 2010 by 2LaneBlackTop
Greg Myers Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 A couple of things, just like a real gasser. First where do you want it to open from? Usually along the door and cowl lines. Next when you make these cuts, what needs to be replaced behind them? The third thing, take all the parts you will use for the front end and glue them together. When this drys, remove any radiator supports and inner fenderwells you don't want. The forth part is how you hing the front of your assembly to tilt forward. For this , check out some of the kits that have tilt front ends. It's not hard.
Jon Cole Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) This is the only flipnose I could find in my albums. Note the chrome bars... they would be attached to the nose, which would in turn be aligned on the front of the car. Once that is established, just attach the bars to the frame rails. HTH.
