Mr. Show Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) Picked up a can of Dupli-Color sealer to try out. I tested two hoods using the same amount of primer layers and color coat. The one with the sealer looked better with higher gloss and a smoother surface. Does anyone else use it and is there any reason not to? Edited November 3, 2010 by Mr. Show
ewaskew Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I use Dupli-Color filler gray primer, but lately all I have found is the red/rust color. When I sand it,it works out real smooth on the in perfections. So I used the primer sealer your talking about to prevent bleed through and it all worked out good. I have not found a reason not to use it.
MikeMc Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) Thats what I use. They make 3 different types of lacquer primer. Sandable...........I use it for guide coats. Hi Build filler / primer......first coats used when roughing and filling Sealer/ Primer......last coat dries smooth and hard, I still wet sand with 1500 before color base is shot label says to use over primer...it seems a bit hotter, but spray light and all is good.
