OK, now now it's when the fire starts up. This is the main component of this model as it is on any sports car model.

Here I will start with the basic transmision section painting it with a 50/50 mix of Tamiya Gold leaf and Silver leaf acrylic paints. From any angle if represents a real model of the 962C engine despite it's 1/43 size. In this part the only work was with the jack that needed a change of angle, something I did succsesfully with some heat from the hair drier.

After the basic painting, I followed it with a light wash and brush detailing of some parts as it is the hydraulic jack and the starter.

Here you can see the detail even on this tiny size.

The main engine block received the same treatment.

The water tank didn't looked real enough to me, so, I scratchbuilt it with some aluminum tubing. Just cut and polish.

Remember in the last post I didn't like the shock look either, so I also replaced the rear ones too with Tameo ones.

OK time to show something....

Here you guys can see a section of what I done until now...here, the distributor, coil, and water tank are scratchbuilt items, distributor and coil from plastic and water tank from aluminun as I mentioned already.

Here the water tank attached to the overflow tank. You can see extra hole for more plumbing.

As always, any comment or suggestions are welcome, this has been a 3 weeks work, mostly because of the size and there still some more work to do on this engine. I think it can be told that I'm in the middle of the engine.

To be continued.

In tha 1st place Simon ?, tha original resin piece isa bit ruff. Yur details distract tha eyes away from tha casting, good job, but.

And what does this hook up too Simon ?, what does it mean....yu cruising in here with half a name? As I see so many newbies doing? Got sum skills, show them, but ifn yu want accreditation, a surname would be helpful.

Thanks for the comments on this. I'm using the Profil 24 Porsche 962C-1987 Le Mans Winner kit. You can see(just in case you haven't) in this workbench section, prior posts on how I started this kit.

Fantastic work Simon, who makes the base kit you are using?
