Brett Barrow Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I took these pics a while ago and just realized I never posted them. They show the hogged-out wheel opening on the inside of the CTH/Hawaiian Funny Car body. I thought it was done for tire clearance, but others have speculated it's the period-correct opening for the CTH, or the correct openings for the Hawaiian. You be the judge, I'll let the pics speak for themselves.
Greg Myers Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 They're speaking, but I don't know what they're saying. I know there were quite a few here on the forum that were really adamant about the shape and size of the openings. It would be great if they could impart their wisdom on this. The early Revell '55 and '57 Chevy's had this feature as well. The idea there was mounting a large set of slicks.
