Body Mounting - How To???

how is a body mounted to a frame? seems like a detail which is taken for granted, so i never find a close up shot.

for example: '29 roadster to its chassis. or '32 coupe. or '34 pick up.

In 1:1 the body is bolted to the frame....in models most of those bodys drop over the frame...

but once it's dropped, what holds it there?

i liked the old SMP, AMT kits where there were 4 screws to wind in. then you knew that puppy was gonna hold!

depends on the kit....in these the bodies were channeled over the frame. The floorboards are glued and the body pinches the frame and rests on the firewall...always somewhere for glue.....

If you want to know how the real car mounts so that you can add that

detail to your frame,go on line and look up shops that build the frames.

If you get a close up view of the frame you can see the mount points,and

then you can scratch build them and add that detail to the frame.

The clips can be made from thin 0.20 plastic or what ever thin plastic

that looks the way you want it to.

Here is a frame that I built for my first one it came out alright.

The mounts are just where I wanted to put them.

I still have to put bolt heads on them hex rod works for that.
