crazyjim Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 here's my most recent completion. Revell's '57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door post. I removed some of the side trim, added a 3rd brake light, and installed bucket seats front & rear with a full length console. It's finished in HOK Kandy Teal.
DRG Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 That is one nice looking 57 Chevy. Good job, I love that interior.
BigBlockLyle Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Beautiful job. I love the detail and the exhaust tips. BTW, do I spy a Vietnam ribbon on the front?
Bluzboy66 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 B-e-a-u-tiful paint on that '57! Real classy. Mike
diymirage Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Beautiful job. I love the detail and the exhaust tips. BTW, do I spy a Vietnam ribbon on the front? keep a close eye on his builds and you will spot one every time (one of these days ill print him out a sheet of vietnam ribbon license plates to make his life a little easier, its the least i can do) as for the car, i like it nice details with the updated brakes and such my only suggestion would be a little bit of detail in the console, i mean, if the owner went through the trouble of installing it there has got to be something to it right ? maybe ad a playstation ?
crazyjim Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Thank you for the comments and yes that's the Vietnam ribbon. Thanks Eelco, but I already made license plates (check the rear end). I didn't want to put a plate on the front and thought painting the emblem would be the way to go. I was going to install a TV for the back seat passengers, but couldn't find one in my stash.
crazyjim Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 No I'm not Vietnamese. I am a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Danno Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Excellent, Jim. One question: Where did you source the buckets? TIA.
crazyjim Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Thanks, Dan. The original bucket seat came from one of my parts drawers. I think it was originally cast by some cottage industry long since gone. I made a mold and cast my own now.

crazyjim Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 When I get out to my shop I'll look around in my old paperwork for an invoice.
davyou5 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 No I'm not Vietnamese. I am a Veteran of the Vietnam War. When I learned what the Ribbon was, I decided to delete the post, My apologies for the Misstake.
crazyjim Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Not a problem for me, Davyou5. Danno - the seats are originally from R&D Unique #RDU-1702. I don't know if they're still around. The package says I got them in 2000. If they are - great. If not, send me a PM.
outlaw035 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 jim....awesome 57...like the color and the wheels...nice touch on the grille emblem....
