Guest Sickfish Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Hey guys here are my 2 latest projects, an 06 Charger Superbee & 06 Magnum. The Superbee is close to being finished & I've been working on the Magnum for the last couple of days. Hoping to get them both under wraps before the year is out, which will make it 4 completed builds this year . Anyway the Superbee has been painted Panther Pink with added pink pearl powder. It's got 20in Aoshima rims & aftermarket, drilled, disc brakes. The interior is mostly stock. I used wire mesh, painted black, for the grill/air duct on the front fascia. ( also for the Magnum ) I painted the blacked-out area on the boot lip, as I believe the decal is incorrect. I did use the Charger, dodge & srt8 emblems though. It's been clear coated with HOK 2- part clear, wet-sanded, polished & waxed . I also masked off & painted the blacked out areas on all the windows, as per the 1:1 Getting the side windows to stay in place whilst gluing them was a pain in the a**! The Magnum has been painted Tamiya French blue. I've filled in the door handles, petrol tank lid, licence plate area on rear fascia, the front fog lights & covered over the sun roof. I really liked the new Petty Special Edtion Challenger & French blue was the closest colour I had. I'm still deciding on adding stripes but I dunno... I kind've like it just 1 fluid colour like Petty's Challenger... Here's some pics... Superbee... Magnum... wheels are 20in Aoshima's Cheers & thanks for looking, Cliffo
Jared Roach Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Wow very nice! I really like them both. I have built both, and they are great kits. Can't wait to see them done.
Guest Sickfish Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) Thankyou Jared & DD. I've built them both before too Jared, the charger I converted to a 2-door & copied WCC's new General Lee version & the Magnum was a custom. I no longer have them because I sold them to a friend... Hence why I'm building them again No DD its the Lindberg kit, the Revell kit was/is... Cheers guys, Cliffo Edited December 17, 2010 by Sickfish
Guest Sickfish Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Jared & DD... the Bee is a wrap... It's in the Under Glass section Cheers Cliffo
RS Sport Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Very nice projects Cliff, both look really cool!
horsepower Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Even though Chrysler did offer a color that they called "Petty Blue", the best match in spray cans is "Grabber Blue". We used this as a touch-up color on our 1:1 Pro-4 late model that was done in the Petty Blue formula in Dupont paint.
