DRG Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 2010 was the year I got back into modeling after a very long absence. There were several things that amazed me as I started this journey. The quality of the kits is much better than forty or more years ago. The tools and gadgetry that can be purchased to assist in building our models seems endless. But I was also rather disappointed at the quality of my first several builds as I don't seem to remember having the problems I experienced. Those models I built years ago surely looked better than that. But then perhaps thats looking back through rose colored glasses. I joined this forum and one other forum and have learned many things. One of those things is the quality of builds being done to-day is simply mind boggling. I just wanted to thank everyone that has offered a helping hand, criticism where needed and instruction as I have journeyed down this road. I pray that everyone has a great Christmas, a Happy New Year. I am looking forward, as far as sixty allows me, to a New Year of learning and improving my modeling skills. May God richly bless all of you.
imatt88 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Don, Same to you, and thanks. I build for the same reason, to relax. Now if I could just get a better paint job on my cars, I'd be happy You don't have to polish Flat Gull Gray or Olive Drab
brett Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Same to you Donald:D, guys it's taken me about 7 years and a 150 odd cars to get my paint to where I'm consistently happy with it. Pretty happy with my detailing and have been going through all the basics again tidying up on them. It is I feel an ever evolving hobby/passion and nearly all I had done years ago that I was so proud of at the time, well some almost me cringe now . However they still share the display case with the newer stuff so that others as well as myself can see my progression. Best wishes to all and not just limited to the holiday season, may we continue to share and grow in our hobby for the rest of the new year on
