How do I get that little symbol (avatar) by my avatar for PM's ? I looked all thru settings and I didn't see anything that would activate it. I'm flummoxed

What little symbol, the one by your name? If that's the one you're talking about, that just shows you are online. If you are online it's green, if you aren't it's gray. As for why it wouldn't show in PMs, I don't know why it wouldn't show and I doubt there would be a setting for it, since it shows your online status.

Also, if by chance you mean the little envelope symbol for sending PMs, you will not see that on any post made by you, since it to PM members, and you shouldn't have a reason to PM yourself. It only shows for other members other than yourself, and you do have that envelope icon on my screen under your regular avatar picture.

Thanks,I kinda figured that I couldn't see it,but others could. As for PM'ing myself, why not? I talk to myself all the time.
