Biscuitbuilder Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Hmm, no opening doors, you say? Well I tried, tried to the tune of several doors, several quarter-panels, but either they were imprecise (having to do all the work around the hinges by hand (very exacting stuff), or could not get them to close precisely, and last, just no good way of securing the hinges where they needed to go. So, Plan B, building a cab with doors fixed in position. So now, a cab is finally coming together: Another look: Biscuitbuilder

Jairus Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Hey Art! I only open the doors if it's feasible. Most of the time my cars are not designed for opening doors just because of the over engineering required to hinge, latch and create decent doorjambs. The sickness is the more you handle a project, the more you see things that can be done… but SHOULD they be done? Your truck looks great by the way! The doors actually LOOK like they could open and that is good enough.
MonoPed Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 What kind of wood did you use? I used 1/32" basswood for my woody conversion. Looks nice!!
