I love wire wheels. They're not easy to make, though. One problem is spoke nipples. The wheels just don't look right without them. The old Ford wires have spokes welded to the hub and rim. I got a "steel" wheel from a Big Deuce and cut out the center, then drilled 32 holes in the rim. I ran some .030" Evergreen rod through the holes just to see how it would look bent into position. The spokes look bigger than they are in this photo. I need to make a hub and assembly jig, but I think it will all work out.

Cool looks like a lot of work have fun.

a few years ago i saw a how to on lacing Pocher wire wheels.

way out of my league. i always wanted some Buffalo wires for my 1:1 "T"
