Swifster Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) With Monogram's excellent '59/'60 Chevy kits, has anyone worked on making other models? And by models, I'm talking Biscaynes and Bel Airs, 2 doors, 4 doors and wagons? I think I saw someone making 2-door sedans though I can't remember just who. Edited May 6, 2011 by Swifster
Mike Kucaba Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Go here to Star Models http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/STARModels.html They (Steve Koehler) sells R&R and Hendrix resin and both companies make several variations of the 59/60 Chevy
impcon Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 As was pointed out to me awhile back, the current 2 door sedan offerings are incorrect in that they have the wrong roof. They are just a Impala Sport Coupe with the side trim altered which means that the roof and windshield and rear glass are all totally wrong. The hardtops and convertibles had a shorter windshield than the sedans wagons and El Caminos. The rear glass is a lot too big for a sedan - the entire roof is different and it would be nice if some enterprising individual would produce a sedan body with the proper roof. Having said that, I am grateful to have what we have but I'd be REALLY happy if someone would fix that problem. As for wagons - *sighs* - I'd love to see a '59 or '60 four door wagon - with all three side trim options available - the Brookwood * Biscayne series ) Parkwood or Kingswood ( Bel Air series with the same side trim as the El Camino in '59 and '60 )and of course, the Nomad with the Impala trim. Oh well - maybe some day someone will hear this plaintiff voice in the wilderness.. ..... I'd REALLY like a Brookwood four door wagon myself like the one my dad bought new in '59.. I have the Modelhaus and it's a very well done piece.
Swifster Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 I had heard about the roof issues on the 2-dr sedans. I was hoping there were options I hadn't seen. I'd like a 4-dr sedan and a 4-dr flatop hardtop. A 4-dr sedan would be great for cop cars. I know there are '59 pick up trans kits and the Corvette isn't that hard to get. Thinking of a dealership project, but dealers usually carried far more 4-drs that 2-drs.
