mackinac359 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I love the thread on the Big Sticks. To think that in the 70's we thought AMT had made that wrecker body up themselves. I spoke to Don Heinz about 4 years ago about the his wreckers. At the time he said they hadn't built any in a while of the big stick - the last one at that time was on a Transtar II cabover. Tim
cdnmodman Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 Tim, I have a question regarding these old brutes. The main boom had a smaller boom inside. The lower cable supplied cable for the pull/pickup. the upper reel I am assuming was used to lift the boom for repositioning. My question is how was the inner boom actually extended, was it cable activated ?? Any ideas Thanks Rick
