Michael, first let me say I have never had either kit, sorry I just don't like those trucks  , but from the builds I've seen here and pics of the real truck, I would guess they probably would work the way you want to use them. I don't see them being much different than the hooded counterparts the Chevy Bison and GMC General, those are more or less the same trucks with different corporate badging, and also the light duty pickup trucks as well.

If I'm wrong, please someone correct me!! :D:lol:

The difference between the last issue of AMT kits of the Astro95 and the Titan90:

Grille

Front nameplate/bowtie

Cab door nameplates.

Decals.

Both kits have a Chevy bowtie on the steering wheel.

Everything else is the same (just like the real truck). In the original issues, the GMC had an option of a turbine engine and automatic transmission.

The Bison and General kits are completely different without much being directly interchangeable without subtle modification.

Wow, so I was right on two trucks I don't like and wrong on two trucks I DO like!!:angry:

Tim, with the matter of the kits aside, the real Bison and General trucks were alike, right?? B)

Yes! Same as the Titan/90 and Astro/95, the Bison and General were clones with different grilles, hood ornaments and badging. Just like a Chevy or GMC Pickup or the era. GM build code: "Convert GMC to Chevrolet."

I remember seeing themboth (General and Bison) coming off the same asembly line in a General Motors production video years ago. The wife's uncle who was retired from GM's Fisher Body division (retired in the late 80's after hiring in right after he came home from the Pacific at the end of WWII) had all kinds of vids that showed and explained line sharing talking about the cost savings from it!

Had film from the 50's all the way up to the 80's from cars and pickups to semi trucks!

Sure wish I knew what his boys did with it all after he passed away. It would be great to have as it showed builds from beginning to end!

Both the original Titan/90 and Astro/95 had the bus-type mirrors, smaller grab handles and round turn signals. The revamped reissues (the ATL, Steelcase and later beer logo issues) had the mid-70's longer grab handles, west-coast mirrors, square turn signals, step ladders, Dragfoiler deflector, exhaust options, air cleaner options, battery box options, CB radio, highback seats, roof lighting and air horn options, windshield visor and round fuel tank options.

Tim

i thought that the original issue Astro also had different mirrors and grab handles as well as the turbine engine option?
