Road Boss question

Need some help here, I just picked up the reissue Road Boss and maybe its just me but the hood doesnt seem to fit

properly at the rear. Its really wide and with the way it sits it covers the bottom of the cab windshiled location so

the molded wipers and vent opening are completely covered over.So the question is it just me looking at it wrong or

is it the design. Cab seems either too narrow or hood to wide.

Someone could shed some light would be appreciated.

As mention by ModelTruckbuilder, AMT got it right back in the mid 70's, when the kit was 1st introduced, the hood of the RoadBoss was design to "float" on (2)rubber cushions, leaving space beetwen cab & hood (eliminating rattles...as mention & better hot air extraction) + on styling side :giving a "1/2...hidden wiper" look with a "flared" top end hood, so common on many cars back then, hood designed by non other than... Larry Shinoda.

Love the kool graphics of the RB back then (on Catalog &... AMT boxart real sharp!)
