falcongeorge Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 For a year (off & on) I have been re-building this from an old glue bomb AMT kit. Almost done. Decided to polish some of the scratches out of the windshield, and... OUCH! Never even felt it crack. I think the first thing I will try is Milli-put on the inside of the windshield, let it set, then vacu-form over it.
falcongeorge Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Its originally a Heller tool, AMT issued it as a two-in-one with the Ferrari P-3, I bought the two-in-one as built-ups from Fred Sterns. Always coveted the Porche kit, as I saw one in a hooby shop many years ago, never saw it since. Its not really that great a kit, its a little underscale, & the shape is off a bit, but it was really fun building it.Till now. ROFL. If you REALLY want to do this car, the Fisher kit is WAY better. But its OOP too.
Guest zebm1 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 next time yu go to polish a windshield falconG, go get sum Silly Putty and cram it into tha opposite side of tha windshield. Clear plastic is very, very brittle. If yu support it, yu'll have less chance of cracking it. zeb
