JAFFA Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Well i kinda think, or hope this thingie is my own invention, so im calling them Scrappy-######-creations or MOWEs (Mudracer Or What Ever). Were looking at about 10 wotkhours in total here i think. Handwork "sheetmetal" from plastic cans and rollbar from cotton cuetips. Fueltank and rear axle from peterbilt, and suspension from scratch, and scrap. Simple nos-system, was rebuilt later... "UPDATE 1": Scratchbuilt shocks and Italery decals. A fuelpump was added too. Fuelline and rebuilt nos-system. Chevy engine started, built from revell 59 impala and AMT 58 Impala. Little details... More enginework.. Engine fits well after a little work, the trucking mirror goes well on this build. First enviorment pic, and last photo i got right now!
Guest zebm1 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Too bad yu built a Chubby Jaffa, yu wouldn't believe how many Chubbys are stuck in tha mud boggs in tha 'Glades. Tha Chubby faithful continue to believe that Chubbys have enough torque to grunt their way outa trouble, they don't and they break. Then they fire up tha CB radio and holler... HALP!! I'm STUCK, Come and get me!   What shows up, a BB Ford, to pick up tha survivors, they leave tha chubby in da swamp, too hard to pull out. Rent a plane sometime and fly over tha outskirts of tha "Glades" chubby after chubby, stuck fast and now used as bird perches. BTW, that's called a Mudskipper, and those tires will get ya stuck in tha 'Glades. 'Glades=Everglades Swamp Great imagination Jaffa, nice scratchbuild.....Q-tip rollbar...... zeb
JAFFA Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 Thanks for the praise, and the little story, now ill have to add a bigger engine... About the tires i think ill add sum big@$$ studs later on.
Modelmartin Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 You need some of these perhaps? They are for mud racers but might be good for your vee-hickle!
JAFFA Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 GHEE!! Modelmartin, Those tyres wud be way cool!, ya got any dimensions, such as rim diameter and outer diameter??
Modelmartin Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 They would be 1.5" O.D., .600 I.D. and .850 wide. The fronts are about 1/8th narrower. PM your address to me and I will send you however many you need for your project. I am doing them for my Web-guy Clint and I just pour extra resin in the mold here and there.
JAFFA Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 Okey, ill have a look at theese dimensions and see if i can machine some rims to 'em, what ya want in exchange?? And also, i need some help with this build, anyone knows a way to make bolt heads, i want to make em for the front rims, and ther shocks?? Also would like some ideas of what to do with that lower edge off the seat it looks very bad like it is now: Anyone got ideas??
Guest zebm1 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 put some more Q-tip crash bars there, but bend 'em a bit...kinda like yu bounced offn a hidden stump or two.. Sorta like tha hotshoe stops his ride after just getting really jounced hard, looks down and breathes a SIGH of relief.....their still there...... zeb
