Ok, I'm building the Revel 99 Chevy Silver...I shaved everything and thought I wanted the tailgate molded to the roll pan, but once I got it sanded and primed I didn't like the look of it.

Now here's my question...what can I do to get the body line back? What are some tricks to keep the line straight?

It's the lower body line....thanks for the help

you can lay some fine line tape down as a guide, say like 1/8" or 1/4" wide and even lay a few layers of it. I have a scribing tool that I usually use when scribbing out body lines or cleaning them up. The one I have is from Bare Metal foil. when Scribbing you want to take your time and not rush it. if you don't have a scribbing tool you can also use the back side of your Xacto Blade to scribe as well. I would recommend trying it on some scrap plastic if you have any just to get the feel of it and practice. If I had more time I would post a pic of it but I need to head out the door to get to work. I will try to remember to take a picture and post it of the Scribbing tool I have when I get home from work.

Go out an get some of the old plastic style DYMO label tapes. They stick well and are thick enough to guide your knife without errors. drag the #11 Exacto blade backwards along the tape after it's positioned where you want the line They have helped me far better than any other method. Here is a pic of what the look like.
