Big spray bombs - what is the best to use?

Recommended Posts

I've never had an issue with Krylon, Rustolium, Plasticote, or Duplicolor primers. You definately want to prime the plastic though, you don't want to use these paints (other than the primer) direct on plastic.

I've had good results with all 4 brands, but I prefer Krylon because it dries very fast, I can usually handle the parts in 10-15 minutes. I've had Rustolium still be tacky after 30-40 minutes.

I've had really good luck with Tamiya, but with a can less than 1/2 the size, and twice the price I only use it for colors I can get otherways.

im really interested in finding a 12 oz can that would work. it would really help me a lot if you guys could be more specific about what your using 8^) for example. do you know how many different kinds of duplicolor there are? i see very few colors in the lacquers. only white , black and silver. are you using the enamels?

The best paint ive used for models are the duplicolor line with a good coat of primer and clear coat under and over the color. Best money youll spend if you want an amazing finish, covers good too!

Hi there,

I stumbled across this forum looking for a review on the 2010 Mustang kit. I am an avid modeller of just about anything that can be reproduced in scale. I have a 68 and 69 Charger on my work bench right now.

Chris, when you say you lay down a coat of primer, then a coat of clear, color, then clear am I right on that?

What is the drying time between coats?

Rob
