Hi I am Dave, I am a first time poster here and I thought I would 'break the ice' with a little tip for you guys.

Making scale K&N filters

What you will need:

Testors Insgnia Red

Testors Black Chrome Trim (or any satin/semi gloss black)

Thin tipped sharpie pen

One of your fingers (trust me)

Step 1: paint the filter part with the red, let dry.

Step 2: using the sharpie pen draw a line in each sunken area around the filter.

Step 3: using your finger rub up and down against the direction of the filter grooves while turning the part in your hand.

Step 4: paint the NON filter part with the semi/satin black.

Step 5: glue the part to the engine.

I hope this trick works for you guys, I have used it before many times and i always get good results. if you are not sure try doing it on a filter from your parts box before doing it on a project build.
