Thought I'd share some pics of my 76 Ford LTL9000 that I'm building to look like the one on one of Ford's brochure covers. I made the longer, corrected hood and cab and Eric (Porky) casts and sells them. I also had the decals made to produce this paint scheme but the red didn't come out the way I had hoped so the only decals on mine are the pin stripes, air intake grills on the hood sides and the owner operator badges under the door windows. The white, red and black are all paint. As some know, I can't stand the painting part (I'm afraid I'll mess it up! LOL)so I sent it to a friend, David Guerrero to paint it for me. He did a really nice job! I still need to add more black pinstripes and finish the black on the windshield cowl. There are some tiny overspray areas that need to be cleaned up as well.

I just have it mocked up in these pics. I'm building an accurate Ford chassis and it will have a set of the real aluminum split rim ten hole wheels that Jim Littiken made.

I like very much what I see here.

You did an ecxelent work on the hood and your friends paint job improves it.

And now the questions, is this hood 1/24 or 1/25? It would be really nice if it could fit the Italeri's FORD LTL9000.

Will you also send your chassis to Eric to be casted in resin???

I really like the looks of this truck, the Ford 9000 series trucks has always been a favorite of mine. The first truck I ever owned was a '73 9000 series quad axle dump with a newer Cummins 310 and a ten speed. Would like to one day replicate it but finding the correct hood for the Louisville has turned up nothing, yet...

I like that you even added the "owner operator" badge under the door windows.

Thanks Tim. I thought was a funky thing they did back then so I wanted it on the Model. I originally had them made for the W9000 cabs whenever they end up getting made. I can't remember if Brad made them for me or if Jim at JBOT did? I have them in gold and silver.

Hello Kostas, thanks! My LTL9000 cab and hood are 1/25 and are designed to be used with any AMT Ford "L" series kit.

Dave at American Industrial Truck Models has a resin hood that is 1/24, designed to be used with the Italeri Ford cab to back date it. It's not totally accurate for a real LTL9000 but it's close. It was mastered by David Guerrero, the guy that painted my parts.

I don't think Eric would be interested in casting the chassis I'm building as there would be way too many parts and not enough interest to compensate his time and money to cast that much.

Hey Rob, between myself and Plaskit in Canada, I'm pretty sure every L series hood is offered in resin. Can you show us a picture of the truck your wanting to build? I can tell you where to find the parts you need, if you can?

thats gonna be a nice one, lookin good so far

Thanks Dennis!

Hey Rob, that's a Ford LTS. Plaskit of Canada has that hood. Here it is on a built truck.
