Steve H. Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I've been plugging along steadily... doing more detail work... Brake lines this time. Brake lines are fine craft wire, rubber hose is a bead thread made of rubber. I make my couplings from hex styrene rod, drilling them out and turning the ends down on my Dremel. I dunk my shiny craft wire in Bleche White whitewall cleaner to tarnish it a little and to give the adhesive a "tooth" to grab ahold of. Most of the lines are glued with Micro Scale Crystal clear, a few lines are bonded with Future. I see now that I have to wash the "Shinys" with some flat acrylic I'm kind of under the gun now, since my plan is to finish this for GSL... Enjoy, Comments always welcome
Modelmartin Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 I am impressed with your detail work. It is very cleanly done and the car has a great "Look" too.
hookedonplastics Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Steve, once again, both helpful and inspiring!
MikeBoyle Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Nice tip with the Bleach White. It makes the wire look exactly like 1:1 steel tube.
Steve H. Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 Nice tip with the Bleach White. It makes the wire look exactly like 1:1 steel tube. Thanks, That was the intention. Leave it long enough and it starts to blacken, also. Accidental discovery, as I found a peice of wire in a jar of BW...
