Harry P. Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I just bought a Ross Gibson engine and it says to use CA glue. What is this and where can I buy it? CA is superglue. You can find it almost anywhere; I buy mine in a four tubes for a dollar pack at Walmart.
Patrick2005 Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 Oh I thought it was something special. I know resin is rather delicate so I want to be careful.
MikeMc Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Oh I thought it was something special. I know resin is rather delicate so I want to be careful. On the Gibson motors I have, I did a fair amount of filing to get things to fit..I mocked them up with aileens tacky glue, got the fit correct, then took them apart washed the white glue off with water, painted them and then assembled with CA. If your fit is tight do not go with gel type CA....as it will be too thick. Here is a great source for CA facts....speed, thickness, what works best....look around on this site..lots of good facts http://www.bsi-inc.com/Pages/hobby/adhesive.html
