just curious what is this black stuff and how do i go about getting it off the frame back to bare plastic

and oh i will be restoring this one ... when i got it off evil-bay the listing said maybe missing parts but i looked and i think they are all there!

as always comments and criticism welcomed! :lol:

I don't really know what the stuff is, but try washing the parts with some dish washing liquid.

matt im going to try that here in a couple days once everything else (general life) passes over!

have checked your parts (inventory)

sorry havent gotten around to even putting them in some dawn (by the way do i use straight dawn or do i put it in a bucket of water with just a tad of dawn or what)? but yeah so much going on now havent gotten around to it ill do that here .....if i can con someone out of some ill start on it tonight! :lol:

If you're talking about the Power Dissolver Sean, you can use it straight from the bottle. Just keep in mind like Justin said, DON'T use it on any chrome parts UNLESS you don't want them chrome anymore!

and what about paint will it strip it to???? :lol:

It strips acrylics very well but for me the enamel paints will take alot of scrubbing and its difficult to clear it out of the cracks.

...Or a LOOOONG time sitting in it! :P:lol: I had some steel coils painted with Testors Model Master Steel enamal that was at least 10 years old and it stripped that. Of course I let them sit for about 3 or 4 months, so I don't know how quickly the Power Dissolver actually worked on the paint.
