jeffs396
Hey all you drag racing experts, are there any kit or resin Hilborn mechanical fuel injection manifolds out there that are realistic & nicely detailed, or is it best to scratchbuild? I'm wanting to put this on an early HEMI as pictured: I'll use aluminum tubing for the ram tubes, really just wondering about the manifold, even if it's for another type engine, if it's nice I think it could be easily retrofitted to the HEMI Thanks in advance! SuperStockAndy
Manifold looks easy to build if you can bend the tubing, then attach that to the flanges. And yeah be sure to use tubing on the manifold so you can see all the way down. I'd say it'd be easier and cheaper just to build your own. jw78z28
A place called best resin use to make some not sure if there still around or not use to get parts at swap meets from them. Think they had a web site but don't know it.
jeffs396
for what's out there and knowing your skills for scratchbuilding, i think you can make your own that will crush anything in kit or resin form. Thanks for the vote of confidence Dave! I'm thinking maybe a nice pair of headers, bobbed & detailed with lines, fittings, & linkage could serve as the manifold, then the aluminum trumpets... diymirage
there are a few kits out there that have them one idea might be the re release from the little red wagon , this time done up as a cocacola machine it comes with a stock engine (440 ?) aswell as the hemi from the LRW with the hillborn injection (sorry, no pics) then there is the modified stockers 53 ford pickup race car hauler it comes with a great 396 firedome hemi that also has a nice hilborn injection both of these kits will supply you with a hemi with hilborn for your project AND a second engine to put in the actual build
MikeMc
Ross Gibson makes both an injected SBC and a BBC with that setup. The BBC does come with aluminum stacks, while the SBC has resin stacks...great detail on both.Ross also uses the same injector setup on a Hemi....
