I recently bought some paint from jimnohio. when i received them and tried using them neither can would spray. i removed the nozzle of one and found an orange goo in the nozzle and coming from the can(the paint is silver). i took a needle and poked it into the hole on top of the can and the nozzle and finally got it to spray but the paint is chunky even after shaking, and the nozzle sticks and i have to pull it up for it to stop spraying. the other can is like that but without the goo. i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and could offer some advice on how to fix the problem.

Thanks

I've experienced the same thing. Don't know what causes it,but it seems that the laquers are the most prone to this problem. Pull your nozzle out and put a few drops of laquer thinner in the valve opening then place your nozzle back in and spray it holding the can upside down.

Have you heated the cans? Also, shake them well. And I do mean well. At least five minutes of rattling (there is a reason why they are called rattle cans), which is a cigarette length for us smokers.

Also, never ever use the nozzles which come with the cans. Art supply stores sell nozzles intended for grafitti artists. Get an assortment to start with (a few bucks will buy you a bag of 20 or so different ones) and test each one until you find the one that works best for you. They are colour-coded. Once you found the one that suits you, buy a bag of 20 of those.

I'd suggest putting the spray nozzle into an ols saucepan of thinners, and leaving it there for 30 minutes.

I bought a rattle can od duplicolor and the can just refused to spray.

The nozzle went into general purpose thinners and then it sprayed better than expected!
