Enzoenvy1 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Hello all. I feel like introductions to forums are like therapy meetings. I say, "I am new and I love_______, or I do_______. LOL I won't do that, wait I am about to, darn. Anyway, I have been lurking on this forum for a while and have not posted because of a few reasons. Mainly because the majority of the people here seem to be classic/custom car builders. That is great, and I love reading about them all. I am more of modern kind of builder. I don't see too many here. But the scratch techniques are so intriguing to me. That inspires me to learn more about the classics. I have about 23 Tamiya Ferraris and some Fujimi that my never get my attention. There is a Jeep CJ to TJ conversion slowly being built, and a few modern bikes on the waiting list. A few Mercedes and Scoobs. Most of my money goes to aftermarket junk. But I am busy with school and work. I find that surfing takes up more of my time as opposed to true building. This site has extremely talented builders and does not flame others. To me, that is the best aspect of the forum. I really have become leary of other sites because of this. It brings you down when you have no responses to something that you have spent so much time on. I am not a master in anyway, but I truly enjoy the hobby and the countless hours it takes to CF an engine bay. I also love the magazine and read it whenever I can. I still never got a call back on the back issue I wanted for the Enzo a few years back, lol. I even live in Colorado Springs!!!! Oh well, maybe I will acquire a connection. Hope to get to know you all better!!!!! Jon Here is my current build:
Enzoenvy1 Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 There are more, and anyone from another forum will know about the struggles I have had with this model, lol. But, i keep truckin!!
ismaelg Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 WOHOO! Another modern car builder! YES!!! Welcome to the forum Jon! This is a GREAT place to share this hobby. It seems your F430 is off to a GREAT start. Your mods like the work on the seats, the added rim to the wheels, and the photoetch parts really stand out. Looking forward to see it finished. Just one more thing: As per the forum rules, can you please add your full name (first and last) in your profile? Thanks,
Ariel Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 HI JON (like at an AA meeting) Nice to see another AF member lurking around here. Great build keep us up to date on this project. Ariel
Ray Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Welcome. Keep us updated on that build, it's looking pretty sweet so far.
Jairus Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Enzoenvy1, Welcome to MCM Forums. Think you will find a nice home here. Please take a few moments and check out the rules. One of which is that you need to post your name in each post on this forum. Best way to do that is to put it in the signature text box found in your Profile section. That way it pops up each time you post. Thank you and as Ray says, keep us posted on the build! 8)
Enzoenvy1 Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 Thanks for the kind welcomes! I did indeed try and change my sig but it is not showing - unless old post will not show it which shouldn't make sense? I will try again!
Steve H. Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time spent here! For a so called "not a master in anyway", That some pretty nice work you're doing on the F430!

I have this problem of buying anything associated with a kit and just going to town. I could have built this OOB in a week, but it has taken me over 6 months.
crispy Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Jon, My sentiments are exactly that of Ismael's. Glad to see another modern car builder. Their are a few of us. Although I know some of the classic builders like to look at the modern stuff as well. Anyway, your Ferrari is absolutely gorgeous. I myself am an OOB builder, but have been slowly adding p.e. and extras here and their. I look forward to more of your work here at MCMF! Thanks for joining! Chris
