Nova-ss Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 hi,There are differences in a small block 400 and anything else in the chevrolet small block family.the 400 hundred is a exturnal balanced and everything else in the small block family are internal balanced.the 383 stocker engine uses the 400 hundred crank so it looks the same.the external balanced engines half a bigger dampner and the flywheel or flex plate half balancing weights on them that is the main differenace.the 327 has a smaller dampener.but you mite not see in scale the differences between the 400 and 327.Thank you,Chris
