I am building the AMT/ ERTL Livestock Trailer. The instruction sheet leaves a little to be desired. I have finished the suspension system except that I can't figure out exactly where the two torque rods and the two torque arms go. Has anyone else built this model and can you tell me where these parts go? I appreciate any help. Thank you

Hey Kasan, that suspension is similar to the one's used on the vans and flatbed that AMT made. The rods and arms go from the bottom of the axle to the the spring perch in front of each axle. I'd have to look at the instructions again but if I remember correctly, the rods go on one side and the arms go on the other. I think this was done so the axles could be adjusted to prevent premature tire wear.

Maybe this pic will help explain a little better.

Even though the above pictures show the track rods and arms on the same side, The suspension on the livestock trailer should have the rods on the drivers side and the arms on the passenger side.

Ben: Thanks for the info. That is a lot clearer than the drawing that I have. I appreciate your help.

You bet! Just so you'll know, there's a truck section on this forum. You'll probably get more responses there on questions you may have. Lots of truck nuts there! (like me!)
