mackinac359
I've seen this company on the road when traveling but never can get a photograph of the trucks. The green and orange scheme caught my eye. I've seen most all makes for them. I've chose (gee, go figure) a Peterbilt for my Joe Brown truck (Brown using green and orange and no brown?) Basing my build on a photo from Don Querciagrossa on HanksTruckPictures.com My version uses an Italeri 378 (the older kit) with a sleeper from the 377 cut to a 36" low roof using a roof from P&P. The wheelbase was cut down slightly. The 378 cab was modified to a single right-hand air cleaner and exhaust. I moved the kit fuel tanks forward and made steps for the tanks. The wheels are Kit Form Services. My orange stripe matches the chassis (Krylon Allis-Chalmers Orange) - it should have been a bit brighter - more neon? More pics are on my site http://www.timstrucks.com on the workbench album or on http://public.fotki.com/mackinac359/workbench-1/joe-brown-pete/ Thanks for looking! ewaskew
The build looks good as always Tim but I can't get use to that color. However thats the way it is when you build them the way they realy look. Keep up the good work.
cowboysevens
looking really good tim , will we see an end dump behind this one to match the photo?
kwtrucker
Tim, The Pete looks great, very nice work. I love the colors too. Another great example of what you can do with the Italeri Pete kits. I live in northeast Texas, so I see Joe Brown International Prostars pulling drybulk tankers every once in a while, on I-20 on my way to and from work. Jim B
Looks really nice, Tim. How does the Krylon Allis-Chalmers Orange compare with Swamp Holly Orange? I've been trying to find a decent match that doesn't cost $15.

eagle2159
as always, great achievement, good job. A question I have in mind, you never thought to construct a European truck Scania, Renault or another.
mackinac359
I've been on vacation for a while, and this project has been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the "Joe Brown" lettering to be printed. Here's a couple of update photos. Jim, on the color question, I haven't used the Swamp Holly to compare the colors. I had hoped to be able to photo some Joe Brown trucks while in Oklahoma and Texas recently, but only saw one truck, a newer Freightliner I think? and I wasn't in a position to photograph it.
