Mad Slammer Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Hi people, I remember back in the early 80's watching a Dukes of Hazard episode that featured a Lifted (as in Off road) General Lee. I had no luck so far finding some info on this car, has anybody here heard about this or was I "tripping" back then...
RodneyBad Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) It was Donked. Jacked up 2wd. I had to take a picture right off of the show while watching. only good pics I can find. Edited October 24, 2011 by RodneyBad
Joe Handley Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) I remember that one too, I'd bet they threw airshocks on the back, cranked down the torsion bars, then put taller tires on it. Don't laugh though, Dad actually had that setup on a '62 Fury with a good Sure-Grip and some taller light truck tires, he said it would go quite a few places that a lot of trucks wouldn't go! Mad Slammer Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 Thanks, Any info on the Season and epidsode??? I knew I wasn't that "high"....
Joe Handley Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I think it was one of the later shows, don't know the particulars, but if memory serves me they were chasing down some theiving hotties in early CJ's with cheap paint jobs and there was a problem with "Dixie" and jacking up the General was their only choice to go and chase them down. Oddly enough, Jeeps and trucks like the Power Wagon were among the few vehicles that would go more places than Dad's Fury did in his early days with the railroad!
RodneyBad Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) Thanks, Any info on the Season and epidsode??? I knew I wasn't that "high".... That episode was The Dukes of Hazzard Season 2, Ep. 12 "Arrest Jessie Duke" From IMDB Boss unveils his new ally: His college-educated nephew, Hughie Hogg. Hughie turns out to be even more corrupt than his uncle, proving it with a scheme to frame Uncle Jesse in a car-stripping ring. Original Air Date: 14 December 1979 Edited October 24, 2011 by RodneyBad
Joe Handley Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Ah, I forgot Hughie Hogg was involved in that episode.
Mad Slammer Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 Thanks Rod... You guys have been a great help...

Danno Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 OMGNAGL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) Thank you, Brandon, for taking care of biz for me while I was slacking off! It's good to know you and BigMike have my back. So, now, ... where was I? Oh, yeah! OMGNAGLT!!!!! Will it never end?
Harry P. Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 After the great apocalypse, the Earth will lie in ruins. Smoldering piles of rubble will mark where great cities once stood, and packs of feral dogs will pick at the carcasses of the dead. The air will be thick and heavy, making it hard to breathe for the few remaining living animals. A cold wind will sweep across the land, and the sun will no longer be able to penetrate the dense blanket of noxious smoke that covers the globe, causing a perpetual darkness to settle over the Earth, gradually choking off all forms of life in a slow and torturous death spiral. And yet, there... off in the distance... a small, flickering light! We get closer. Now we can make out what it is through the dark, dense, smoke-filled air. It's a computer monitor! And on that monitor? Some sort of frantic signal for help from far away? Civilization's last gasp of existence? No. It's another General Lee thread! Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.............

martinfan5 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I think danno is going to have nightmares about general lee threads now
Chuck Most Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I think danno is going to have nightmares about general lee threads now Jonathan- General Lee speaking, Danno ALWAYS has nightmares about General Lee threads. (And after Danno reads this I'm going to edit the post so that first GL reads 'Generally' just so he thinks he's losing it. )
Agent G Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I've built a General Sherman, A General Pershing, a General Patton, and a General Bradley. You'd think General Lee is next, nope.........General Abrams. G
martinfan5 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Agent, good job on the tanks, very nice. How about that, a general lee thread in the general topic section
