landman Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) Love weird engines !! I didn't set my photos to focus on the engines so much but you can get the idea. Nice work Brian. What is the source of the turbine? Edited January 18, 2016 by landman
Brianl Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Hi PatTurbine is from the STP Lotus kit. It's original issue & had been in my parts box for forty years or so! Used a photo-etched grill from a Tamiya rally kit to replace the original clear plastic pieces. Worked well with the salt flat racer concept. Brian

Foxer Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) There are some incredible looking engines here .. MANY of them! I thought I must have put up the Porsche 944 engine in my avatar but seems not. So here's my best to date and converted from a turbo to a normally aspirated that resided in my 1:1. Perspective Customs Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Wow, some really cool engines posted here. Here's an AMT 2004 Pontiac GTO LS2 I'm putting into a '55 Chevy Bel Air. The car will be pink and white hence the pink covers and white plenum.
Dave Darby Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 AMT 1956 T Bird, with goodies from the 57 T Bird, and 40 Ford. We'll compare that to this blast from the past. I built this MPC 1976 Monza as a 15 year old back in 1976....
Dave Darby Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Here's one more, an AMT 57 Skyliner Conversion I did back 1990///

Q: which kit is this?, im waiting to build mine until I get the Hasegawa version. the one I have now is the Testors, and its got a lot of warpage that I don't feel like fixing.

It had the correct front for the '87 I had. Only the engine block and valve cover is left from the turbo after conversion to normally aspirated. This link is to my Under Glass post for itThe Hasegawa is the best 944 for sure. Edited February 24, 2016 by Foxer

TooOld Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) I know I posted the 283 in my '60 El Camino but I don't think I've shown this one . It's the 350 in my '74 El Camino . Edited December 26, 2017 by TooOld Moved To Fotki
Lordmodelbuilder Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Here's a few from over the years. 56 F100 was wired in early 70's & the yellow Courier was done in the 80's. I was using sewing thread for plug wires & chromed elastic thread for braided hose! All the others were done in the mid 90's & early 2000's.
MrObsessive Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Some of you have seen these before.............. '55 Jag D-Type '57 Corvette Fuelie '58 Chevy Impala '67 Mustang when it was still under construction
crazyjim Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I really HATE it when you guys post pics of real engines on a model site.
bismarck Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I can't even SEE parts that small, let alone paint them!!! That E-type engine is a work of ART Bill!!!
