Cato Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I know my eyes are bad but-Charlie from ProTech posted a thread in 'Big Boyz' regarding his new 1/16 seat harness hardware. I asked him some questions there but now-where's the thread??

randx0 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 if it is older than a year it won't pop up automatically you would have to search the forum . if it was a newer thread then perhaps rules were broken or something and it got deleted but that doesnt happen very often.
Craig Irwin Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 If it was deemed selling on the forum it may have been deleted.
Harry P. Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 If it was deemed selling on the forum it may have been deleted. And we have a winner...
Cato Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 And we have a winner... OK then if a thread is deleted, can the guys that asked questions be notified so they can contact the party privately? BTW I see many PE parts and resin-related threads showing new products or who manufactures them not deleted.
Harry P. Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 It's a logistical nightmare to contact every member that posted on a deleted thread and explain the whys and wherefores. You can post a general heads-up on new products, like "check out the latest resin whatevers at www.xxxxxx.com"... that's ok. But posting photos, descriptions, prices, and where to buy is "selling" and is not allowed here. If we allowed people to sell products here this place would turn into an ebay-like site in no time.
Cato Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Thanks for the clarification. Maybe these are over that border: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=48411 http://www.modelcars...showtopic=48125
Harry P. Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Cato... it's a little confusing. If someone posts something like, "Hey, check out the new resin 1956 Flashmobile at www.xxxxxxxxx.com," that's more of a "heads-up," not direct selling. If someone posts something like "Here is my latest resin body of a 1956 Flashmobile, they go for $25 and you can buy it by emailing me at resinguy.com, I accept Paypal, Visa or MC"... that's selling, and that's not allowed here. I guess the determining factor is, if someone posts all the information needed to buy the item, that would be considered selling. If someone posts a link, or where to go for further information, that would be ok. At least, that's how I understand the "no selling" rule.
Cato Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Harry-not breaking your shoes. Have complete understanding of the rule as explained and agree. But, IIRC, Charlie did not post a price in the deleted thread. I didn't see that as different from 'Here's the box art I just did-it's coming in 2012'. Ironically, in the link I posted above, he did post a price yet the thread still stands. I know- stuff happens...
