Hi all,

Since joining here I have been looking at all the amazing models & engines, engines which have machined billet parts, I was just wondering who is going to be the first to build an actual working engine...

The standard of work in here is waaaaaaaaaaay above just amazing, it is above and beyond anything I have ever seen...

Hi all,

What scale?

It has been done in larger scales like 1/6 and 1/4. Look up model engines on youtube. I guy even made a running top fuel motor in scale that sounds like the real thing.

Hi,

Sorry, forgot to add the scale, I was on about 1/24th, like the ones in here, I have seen the ones on You Tube before...

I don't think it's physically possible to build a working 1/24 scale engine, if by "working" you mean internal combustion four-stroke running on gas. The internal parts would be so tiny that they couldn't possibly take the stresses, and how would you maintain tolerances that are already microscopic in full scale and scale those town 24 times smaller?

I actually made a thread about that because I was going to build one, but never got around to it.

Sorry, it was just a thought, I'll shut up then, so sorry to have bothered you...

No bother I didn't take the question as literal as the others. The closest thing I think we have to that level though is bill geary's windows that roll down by the crank in 1/24

That was awesome. It's a coincidence his last name is Geary, though.....:lol:

some say.... that Bill Geary has a shrinking machine in his basement...

some say... that midnight deliveries of rare and beautiful automobiles are made to his house....

some say.... that Bill Geary taught Chuck Norris how to build a model.

whatever the truth is.... only Bill Geary knows!
