SuperStockAndy Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I'm building the Hawaiian. Where do the 'chute tethers attach to? I'm figuring somewhere on the rear axle but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.
Mike Kucaba Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 For something like this I'm not sure either. Which Hawaiian is this? Fueler or Funny car? I'd check Google images, but at any rate,it should be someplace where the stress would not be a problem.
Harry P. Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 It all depends. There were a bazillion versions of the Hawaiian, probably no two of them were exactly alike. Generally the chute lines are attached to the rear axle or some other sturdy chassis crossmember.
High octane Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I used a small eye bolt in the rear end cover ot this altered and attached the chute lines to it. The hardware as well as the cord came from Hobby Lobby. I hope this helps.
MicroNitro Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 On Funny cars they always hook to the center of the rear end housing. Most of the time there is two plates with a bolt and bushing they loop around.
SuperStockAndy Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Thanks guys, but kind of late now, I already made it. I imagine I could pull my brackets off if I had to. Yes, it's the funny car. I put the brackets on the back crossmember....so maybe I should hook it to the read end housing then?
