Dr. Cranky Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 A few years ago a bunch of us over in the diorama world began to exchange dirt. You hear right, DIRT, as in finely sifted soil to be use in our diorama turfing . . .. And I just thought it'd be a cool idea to start a similar exchange among those of us interested in finding new mesh materials we can use as templates for airbrushing our models. It doesn't have to be anything larger than a 3" x 5" card sized piece, which will include whatever you have found and are willing to share in the exchange. For example: any type of mesh material, fishnet, produce packaging, doily (paper or otherwise) screen material, fabric . . .anything that can be sprayed through with the airbrush. Is anyone interested. My doing this is simply to grow my collection (yours too) without having to spend a fortune. And also, I think it'd be a lot of fun. Then again, I might just be totally INSANE! Cheers, Doctor Cranky
Agent G Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) I have used bridal tulle to achieve a subtle diamond pattern. A big roll was like $4 at Hobby Lobby. G Edited November 10, 2011 by Agent G
trogdor Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Cranky, I think that's a great idea, but no way I'm parting with my fishnets
Dr. Cranky Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Rick, that is funny. That cracked me up!
