Actually lets put it this way... im wondering what is the best mustang kit made that i can have engine detail and all the goodies? i know the tamiya kit has those possibilities and i would like to have one that is big enough to go with my revell b-17 bomber?

The 1/24th scale kit isn't that nice. The best P-51 kit is the new Tamiya one in 1/32 scale. And the best place to buy airplane models is Sprue Brothers. Good prices and absolutely the best lightning fast service anywhere!

I have no connection to them but I buy all my airplane models and accessories there that I don't pick up at a show...

WOW! I knew plane kits prices were high, but not like this. I'm sure it's worth it though with Tamiya's quality. I checked Great models and they were even higher priced!! :o

Mike, Tamiya's prices darn near doubled over the last year. New releases are now just as, if not more, expensive than DML, Tasca, Hasegawa, or Trumpeter.

It used to be a newbie armor builder bought a few relatively cheap Tamiya kits at first. After feeling comfortable they then invested a few more $$ for a newer tool, more accurate (read complicated) kit. There's no difference in price anymore, yet Tamiya's kits stand the test of time as far as I'm concerned.
