enzotoys Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Here is another one for you guys : I use Micro-Mark CR-600 casting resin to cast small parts like seats in 1/24th scale for example. Many weeks after casting, the resin parts seems to be cured but are not completely cured. I realise that they are not completely cured when I paint them : the paint stays wet even after many days. Should I use another brand of resin ? Or, is it because the resin bottle has been opened for a too long period ? Thanks for any help
Jairus Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I'd say that your last suggestion is probably the correct one. The curing process is a chemical reaction. If there is one chemical missing due to age then the reaction will not happen or the process was slowed to a crawl. You could try a little heat to aid the cure but fresh materials would prob. be best.
