Thor Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hi this is my firts try at building a big rig, so i might need some advise along the way. this is what i have done so far. An early mock up Cab painted and wheatered
Darren B Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 This thing is awesome so far, I love the weathering on this, what did you use for the weathering, I want to build a truck but give it weathering that it would have for being on the road. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Ben Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Really nice paint work!!!!!!!!! Very sharp, clean edges on your stripes. Did you use decals for the pinstripes or is that paint as well?
jeffs396 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Cool, that brings back childhood memories of the "Turnpiker"
Thor Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 HI thanks for nice replys The is paint only no decals yet. Can any one help me with some info / pics of how to route some lines for the brakes and stuff on the frame, need to look a little "busy" Does any one know what color the engine usually was? Thanks in advance Thor
mackinac359 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 As for the frame being busy looking, if the truck is 'factory stock' the lines would be bundled and tucked into the corners of the frame rails passing through the crossmembers. Peterbilt kept their hoses and lines up and away. I thought I had a photo posted with the chassis but I can't find it. There are air lines that run from from the air tanks to the air bags and leveling valve, plus electrical lines running to the taillamps. I'll see if I can find the photo. Tim
