Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Revell's kit painted (IIRC) Testors German Silver Metallic.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Nice Beemer. How was the kit to build? The only "problem" and it's not really a problem was getting the finished chassis/interior into the body as the body has lots of "tumblehome". In other words, it really curves under. It's fiddly work more than anything else.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Thanks guys! It was a fun 8 day build.
Zoom Zoom Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Nice finish John! Looks just right. Exact color scheme I want to build mine, the trademark colors for the Z8. Looks like you took the time to sand/smooth all the roughness from the body; the kit has some severe mold lines and sink marks to deal with. Someone told me that you can do some cutting on the chassis to make it fit a bit easier in final assembly, but looks like that really isn't necessary.

If I were to do another (not gonna happen BTW), I think I'd go for black like the one I found for reference on eBay Motors. The dark body colour really makes the interior, chrome and aluminium "pop".
Zoom Zoom Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 John, good potential 2nd choice as IMHO the black w/black/red interior is the second-best color combo on a Z8. They're really sharp cars.
